Teacher mentoring

Whether you’re just getting started in your teaching career or are simply looking for another perspective, I’m excited to share my expertise with budding teaching artists.

Teaching is a privilege

How many professions can say that they help develop the full individual? A career in teaching music requires so much more than the foundation built during a typical undergraduate, and sometimes even graduate degree program.

What are method books? How do I network with other professional teachers? What are my career options? How does one solicit new students? How do I drive student retention?

I wondered so many things when I was first getting started teaching nearly a decade ago. Through a great deal of trial and error as well as surrounding myself with incredible mentors who were doing the very thing I wanted to do, I found my way. I am grateful to now be in the position to offer my expertise to others just getting started in their teaching careers as well.

What do you do?

Having been teaching privately for roughly a decade, owned and operated a brick-and-mortar music school which served hundreds of students, to serving as a collegiate faculty member, I’ve navigated a successful career teaching voice and piano at various levels. I offer consulting work, mentor new and budding music educators, and provide opportunities for others to observe my own teaching.
